About Me

After my parents immigrated to New York from Guyana, South America, my older brother and I were born in Brooklyn.  When I was 4 years old, my family relocated to Galveston, Texas.  When I graduated from high school, I moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas.  I taught ESL and GED classes at Austin Community College after graduating from UT.  While continuing my work at ACC, I started teaching 3rd grade at Austin ISD.  For 15 years I taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades. My brother is also an educator.  He is a high school band director at Dallas ISD.  This will be my first year at Forest Creek Elementary.  I am excited to begin a new adventure here!
